Frequently Asked Questions for New and Prospective Patients with Cancer or Survivors
Do you offer “meet and greet” sessions?
I offer “Get Acquainted” sessions ONLY FOR LONG-TERM PACKAGES (6+ month packages) here.
I generally do not offer them for the foundational (2 or 3 session) bundles. If, after reading through the Integrative Cancer Support and the Work with me Cancer sections of the site, you feel a need to speak with me, I will do my best to accommodate this by offering a brief session, limited to specific questions that are not covered here. Use the contact form to reach me.
Do you offer “Ask Susan Sessions” for new cancer patients?
No, these sessions are for new patients with general questions. It takes 2-3 visits to develop a protocol for cancer patients which involves investment of my time between our meetings. “Ask Susan” sessions do not allow for this.
I have not yet started treatment, when should I book my initial appointment?
If you have recently been diagnosed with cancer, it would be best to try to schedule your initial appointment before you begin treatment. Options for improving tolerance to treatment and other treatment-related issues can be discussed.
How do I follow up with you after a “Core Foundations” bundle?
This can be done by upgrading to a long-term package or, for those whole require less support, “Ask Susan” sessions may be used for follow-up appointments for already established patients.
Making initial appointments for adult family members?
Sometimes a friend or family member believes that a loved one will benefit from integrative nutrition and cancer support when their loved one is not on board with this. I have learned that when a patient is not invested in the process, they may be reluctant to adopt our approach. For this reason, we require that all adult patients complete their own paperwork (unless physically unable to) and initiate their initial appointment.
Where do I obtain my supplements?
Please refer to the “Supplements” tab on this site. We recommend that new patients purchase their initial protocol supplements from the recommended sources. Once you are established on your protocol, you may use other sources for the recommended brand names.
FAQs for New or Prospective Patient with Chronic Illness
How long does it take to get results?
Results vary by each person. Some people feel dramatic improvement within the first month, for others it may take a bit longer. Remember, your body didn’t fail overnight. Years of stress and illness takes its toll and it takes a time to heal. On average it takes one month of repair for each year you’ve suffered from a specific problem.
